Highlights

  • Same day, every week

Seasonal customers get a set service day, so your lawn is done on schedule and you're not guessing when the crew will show up.

  • Mow, trim, edge, blow

Every visit includes mowing, string-trimming around obstacles, edging along concrete, and blowing clippings off drives and walks.

  • Height that follows the season

We adjust cutting height through the season. Shorter in spring, taller in summer heat, then a lower final cut before winter.

  • Cleanups bookend the year

Spring cleanup gets the lawn ready after snowmelt. Fall cleanup clears the leaves that would otherwise smother turf under the snow.

What a seasonal mowing agreement covers

  • About 24 weekly visits from spring green-up through the end of the growing season
  • Mowing, string-trimming, edging along drives and walks, and blowing off hard surfaces
  • Cutting height adjusted through the season for Minnesota cool-season grass
  • A regular service day, so you always know when we'll be there
  • Priority scheduling for spring and fall cleanups

One-time mowing is available for overgrown lots, move-outs and vacation coverage when the schedule allows.

Seasonal lawn care that runs itself

A lawn looks good when it gets cut at the right height on a regular schedule, not when someone remembers to call a crew. That’s why our lawn maintenance is set up around seasonal agreements. You get a set service day from spring green-up to the end of the season, and the visits keep happening without any back-and-forth.

What happens on each visit

Every weekly visit includes mowing, string-trimming, edging and blowing. We trim around beds, trees, fences and the mailbox. We edge where the lawn meets the driveway, walks and curb. Then we blow clippings off every hard surface so the property looks finished when we leave, not just mowed.

Mowing for Minnesota grass

Most South Metro lawns are cool-season blends of Kentucky bluegrass, fine fescue and perennial ryegrass. These grasses grow hard in spring and fall and slow down in July and August heat. We cut taller in summer to protect the roots, and we never take off more than about a third of the blade at once. Cutting too short in a hot, dry stretch is the fastest way to a brown lawn and a crabgrass problem.

Cleanups that protect the lawn

Spring cleanup gets the property ready after snowmelt by clearing debris, cleaning out beds and giving the lawn its first cut. Fall cleanup is just as important. A layer of wet leaves under a winter of snow is how lawns come out of March matted, patchy and full of snow mold.

Lawn Maintenance questions

When does weekly mowing start and end in Minnesota?

Mowing usually starts in late April or early May, depending on when the lawn greens up and the ground firms up after snowmelt. It runs until growth stops in October. That's about 24 weekly visits, which is what our seasonal package is built around.

How does mowing height change through the season?

We start a little shorter in spring to clean up winter-matted grass and encourage growth. As summer heat arrives we raise the deck to around 3 to 4 inches. Taller grass shades its own roots, holds moisture and crowds out crabgrass. In fall we step it back down for the last cuts, because long grass under snow is more prone to snow mold.

When should I schedule spring cleanup?

Book in March and plan for the work to happen in April. Spring cleanup has to wait until the snow is gone and the lawn is firm enough to walk on. Raking soggy turf pulls out grass and leaves ruts. Booking early gets you into the first round instead of waiting into May.

What's included in a spring or fall cleanup?

Spring cleanup clears winter debris and dead leaves from the lawn and beds, cuts back perennials and ornamental grasses, and includes the first mow. Fall cleanup removes leaves from the lawn and beds and hauls them away. Leaves left on the lawn over winter mat down under the snow, block light and feed snow mold.

When is the best time for fall cleanup?

Late October into November, after most trees have dropped. Oaks hold their leaves late, so yards with oaks sometimes need a second pass. We plan fall cleanups so they're done before the first lasting snow.

Do I need to be home when you mow?

No. Leave gates unlocked, keep pets inside on your service day, and pick up toys and hoses where you can. If something is in the way, we'll work around it and let you know.

Can I bundle mowing with snow removal?

Yes. The year-round bundle combines the seasonal mowing package with a 2-inch seasonal plowing agreement. One company, one point of contact and one crew that already knows your property in every season.
